Movie Mania - After School Enrichment Program

ACTION! It’s time to bring a little bit of Hollywood to your school.

Kids love watching movies, and now they get a chance work behind the scenes and STAR IN ONE! Our Movie Mania enrichment program is both fun and educational. It is a great alternative for those kids that want to act, but not sing and dance in the school musical.

Movie Mania - Scripted Option

Students will get to act in and work behind the scenes in one of our already written scripts. One of the benefits of this option is that there is more of a guarannte that the finished film will have a cohesive story. Our scripts are also ensemble pieces, so there is no “lead.” All of our actors have roughly the same amount of lines and screen time. We generally start the session with a table read, and then assign parts randomly. We have several scripts to chose from, and they can be adjusted to have anywhere from 8-14 kids in the film. In addition to acting all of the kids will rotate through the “behind the scenes” jobs.

Movie Mania - Script to Screen

With the directors guidance the students develop a movie from script to screen. The students are guided through coming up with a concept, and developing it into a story. They get to chose their characters names, and backgrounds, and everyone has a say in how the movie unfolds. This option allows kids more of an opportunity to express themselves creatively in a group setting. The kids enjoy this option, and tend to have a bit more ownership of the film. The drawbacks that need to be mentioned are that the movies don’t always make sense, and the amount of screen time that each kid gets isn’t equal.
